Association Introduction

 

History


In 1969, Belgium took the lead in introducing Orff teaching to Taiwan through Father Suenshi, and established the "Orff Pedagogy Research and Promotion Center" in Guangren Primary School, thus opening the course of Orff teaching in Taiwan. In 1988, a group of educators who were interested and enthusiastic about the Orff concept began to organize the association. In May 1992, the Ministry of the Interior approved the establishment of the "Chinese Orff Education Association, with Chen Huiling as the first chairman. In 2009, it was renamed Taiwan Orff-Schalwerk Education Association.


purpose


Using the concept of the Orff pedagogy, based on the Chinese culture to expand and enrich the autisic teaching content of music, literature, fine arts, rhythm, drama, etc. To gather people who are interested in this pedagogy across the country to jointly develop textbooks suitable for art education. We strive to interact with Orff research institutions around the world to improve the level of art education.



mission


1. The research and promotion of Orff's teaching method.

2. To assemble extensive collection of Orff music and art-related teaching materials, and provide training.

3.To assist music education books.

4.To assist all educational institutions in the use of Orff method for art-related teaching.

5. To organize seminars and present keynote speeches, performances, and international Orff workshops. 

6. To participate in activities of Orff teaching and research at home and abroad to enhance mutual exchanges and cooperation.

7. To engage in matters sfipulated in the articles of association.


The functions and powers of the general meeting are as follows:


1. Formulate and change the articles of association.

2. Election or removal of directors and supervisors.

3. Discuss the amount and method of admission fee, annual membership fee, business

fee and member donation.

4. Discuss the annual work plan, report, budget, and final accounts.

5. Discuss the removal of members (members, representatives).

6. Discuss the disposition of property.

7. To resolve the dissolution of the group.

8. Resolutions on other major issues related to the rights and obligations of members.



Council


Fifteen directors (including one chairman and four standing directors) are established with the association. The functions and powers of the board of directors are as follows:

1. Convening meeting.

2. Examining the qualifications of members.

3. The election or removal of executive directors and directors.

4. To accept the resignation of directors, standing directors or directors.

5. Hiring and dismissing conference staff.

6. To draw up annual work plans, reports, budgets, and final accounts.

7. Other matters to be implemented.



The sources of funding for the Association are as follows:


A: Admission fee:

1. Individual members NT$1,000, paid when the member joins.

2. NT$5,000 for group members, to be paid when the member joins.

3. The NT$1,000 for preliminary member when the member joins the membership.

B: Annual membership fee:

1. NT$1,000 for Individual members.

2. NT$3,000 for group members.

3. NT$700 for prelim inary members.

4. Business expenses.

5. Member donations.

6. Commissioned income.

7. Funds and their dividends.

8. Other income.
